Your Trusted Pipette Calibration Provider
Micro Precision is an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited pipette calibration provider with NIST-traceable measurements across 50+ labs worldwide. We calibrate all major pipette brands and models for pharmaceutical, biotech, clinical, and research laboratories, issuing detailed calibration certificates with full measurement data on every instrument serviced.
Our certified technicians apply the gravimetric calibration method, weighing dispensed volumes against reference standards traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). This measurement approach ensures your pipette calibration records hold up to ISO 9001, ANSI/NCSL Z540.3, and external quality audit requirements. From single instruments to full-fleet calibration programs, Micro Precision delivers consistent, documented results your quality system can rely on.
Why Pipette Calibration Matters
A miscalibrated pipette introduces volumetric error into every assay, dilution, and formulation it touches. Calibration corrects volume delivery to within documented tolerances, protecting data integrity in regulated laboratory environments. Pipettes operating outside specification compromise experimental reproducibility and expose labs to non-conformances during audits and inspections under ANSI/NCSL Z540.3 and ISO 10012.
Researchers, quality control technicians, and laboratory managers across life sciences, pharmaceutical manufacturing, food safety, and clinical diagnostics depend on volumetric accuracy for reliable results. Regular calibration intervals — documented and traceable to NIST — keep pipettes performing to specification and keep labs audit-ready.
How We Calibrate Your Pipettes
Micro Precision calibrates pipettes using the gravimetric method, weighing dispensed liquid with a precision analytical balance against NIST-traceable reference standards. Each instrument is tested at multiple volume set points, adjusted if found outside tolerance, and returned with a calibration certificate that includes measurement data, uncertainty values, and a NIST traceability statement.
- Receive and Inspect — Log the instrument serial number, model, and physical condition upon arrival. Document the pre-calibration state.
- Gravimetric Measurement — Weigh dispensed volumes at multiple set points using a precision analytical balance traceable to NIST standards.
- Adjustment — If the pipette is found outside tolerance, our technicians restore volumetric accuracy to manufacturer specifications.
- Certification — Issue a calibration certificate with measurement data, expanded uncertainty, pass/fail status, and NIST traceability statement.
- Return — Ship the calibrated pipette with its certificate and a calibration-due date sticker.
Our Calibration Options
Micro Precision offers in-lab, on-site, and mail-in pipette calibration to meet the needs of laboratories of all sizes. Standard turnaround keeps instruments out of service for the minimum required time, and rush service is available for time-critical compliance requirements.
In-Lab Calibration
Ship your pipettes to any Micro Precision facility and receive them back fully calibrated with documentation. Available at 50+ accredited lab locations across the United States and globally.
On-Site Calibration
Our technicians travel to your facility to perform calibration in your laboratory environment, minimizing downtime and keeping instruments on-site throughout the calibration process.
Mail-In Service
Send pipettes directly to our calibration lab. Ideal for labs that want ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited calibration without scheduling an on-site visit.

Accredited Pipette Calibration Service Provider
Micro Precision’s pipette calibration services are backed by ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation — the international standard for calibration laboratory competence. Our accreditation, combined with ANSI/NCSL Z540.3 and ANSI/NCSL Z540-1 compliance, ensures that every calibration certificate we issue meets the documentation requirements of quality audits and regulatory inspections.
For decades, Micro Precision has served as a trusted calibration partner for laboratories requiring documented, traceable pipette calibration. Our ISO/IEC 17025:2017, ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994, and ANSI/NCSL Z540.3-2006 accreditations are maintained through ongoing audit cycles, ensuring that the credentials backing your calibration records remain current and verifiable.
Micro Precision offers three pipette calibration service levels to match your laboratory’s compliance requirements. Choose Traceable calibration for routine quality management, Traceable with Data for ANSI/NCSL Z540-1 documentation needs, or Accredited calibration for full ISO/IEC 17025:2017 compliance with expanded measurement uncertainty statements and accreditation body documentation on your certificate.

Frequently Asked Questions
Pipettes require calibration at minimum once per year for all laboratory applications. Standard daily-use laboratories should calibrate every 6 months. High-volume or critical-application pipettes require quarterly calibration. Any pipette that undergoes repair or physical impact must be recalibrated before returning to service, regardless of when it was last calibrated.
Calibration is a full measurement process that assesses a pipette’s accuracy, adjusts it to within specified tolerances, and issues a calibration certificate with measurement data and a NIST traceability statement. Verification is a simplified performance check performed between calibration intervals to confirm the pipette remains within tolerance — without making adjustments or issuing a formal certificate.
A compliant pipette calibration certificate must include the instrument serial number, model and manufacturer, calibration date and next-due date, test method, pre- and post-adjustment measurement data, pass/fail status, measurement uncertainty, NIST traceability statement, and the calibrating laboratory’s accreditation body name and scope number.
Pipette calibration pricing depends on service level, pipette type, and order volume. Contact Micro Precision for a quote based on your pipette inventory and required service level
In-house pipette performance checks are possible with calibrated analytical balances and reference standards, but in-house results cannot substitute for ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited calibration in most regulated laboratory and audit contexts. Accredited calibration provides the expanded measurement uncertainty data and independent traceability documentation that in-house checks cannot supply.
Micro Precision calibrates all common pipette types including single-channel micropipettes, multi-channel pipettes, electronic pipettes, repeater pipettes, fixed- and adjustable-volume pipettes, positive displacement pipettes, and bottletop dispensers.
A pipette needs recalibration if it has exceeded its documented calibration interval, been dropped or physically impacted, undergone any repair or internal maintenance, or is producing inconsistent experimental results. Visible indicators include tip leakage, inconsistent plunger feel, or volumes that no longer match expected outcomes in your assays.
